My wife has been volunteering for Trafford Little Bundles for over a year, helping them meet their massive demand for baby essentials (clothing, prams etc). Trafford Little Bundles provides baby equipment and clothing to vulnerable mums in need in the South Manchester area. The families they support are referred by front line health and social care professionals. They are expecting a baby in difficult circumstances; they might be victims of domestic abuse, teen parents, refugees or just really struggling at a time everyone needs support.

All their staff time is provided by volunteers, but ongoing funding is needed to pay for their storage unit and to buy items which are frequently needed but not donated enough.

The triathlon is an Olympic distance event around Salford Quays. There is a 1.5km open water swim around the Quays, a 40km bike ride around Trafford and Salford and finishes with a 10km run around Media City. More information about the triathlon can be found on their website :
