    Hi everyone,

During lockdown I’ve had a lot of time to think of new ideas for fundraisers etc as we have all had a little extra time on our hands. Obviously it’s been very hard times for everyone over the last 3/4 months with the ongoing pandemic that has effected everyone. We unfortunately had to cancel the Leighnix nights event we had planned for May (we will be rearranging this for next year) which we were all absolutely gutted about due to the amount of planning that went into it. I’ve been racking my brains about how we can fundraise and raise money whilst sticking to the Government guidelines and socially distancing. Obviously, big gatherings won’t be allowed to happen for a while so that was out of the question for the time being. Numerous other things I came up with weren’t practical at this time. So, I’ve decided (some would say stupidly and that’ll include me no doubt when it comes to it!) to do a sponsored run to raise money for the Two Hips One Knee Fundraiser and Action4Alfie by running 4mile (6.4k) every 4 hours for 72 hours (3 days) which in total works out at 72 miles (115.8k). Yes, some will call me crazy and I’ll agree with you on that but it’s something that I want to do and means a lot to me and my family. I am being joined by Leigh Centurions half back and good friend, Martyn Ridyard who'll be running the whole thing with myself. We will be starting this on Friday 7th August at 8pm and finishing Monday 10th August after our 18th and final run which will begin at 4pm.

We have had some t-shirts to run in kindly sponsored by ADS Marquees who are the best in the business for marquee hire in the Leigh and surrounding area. Get in touch with them if you need any extra space at work/clubs or to hire a marquee for a party/wedding.

If you’d like to sponsor and donate please see the just giving link below where you can. I appreciate it’s a hard time for people financially but any help is massively appreciated at this time 👍🏼

If you do not wish to use the Just Giving page to donate, we will also be collecting cash donations.

    Thank you 🦴 🅰️

We heard about this at your Nan's funeral - what a superhuman effort especially at such a sad time. Best wishes and good luck.
