Story
I'm running the London Marathon on the 26th of April 2026 to raise money to help Perth Strathtay Harriers to support the young athletes that train every week, in all weather, throughout the year. To help the club give them the best opportunities to train and compete.
The club's vision is:
To develop an informed, educated and inclusive athletics community and create a clear pathway to ensure that people of all abilities are supported to participate, progress and perform in athletics
The volunteers/coaches that run the club, not only give their valuable time, they give the children such a positive atmosphere and community to enter the world of athletics.
I've seen firsthand the difference this can make to our children, and I would go as far to say it can be life changing for some.
With this in mind, I am running my first London Marathon, and my third overall. I ran my first marathon last year, the Edinburgh Marathon in May. I ran my second, the Loch Rannoch Marathon, in October.
I've found running marathons and the training involved in the build up to be unlike anything else I've done in my life. Both the marathons I've run have been special for different reasons, and being a Londoner, this one has its own unique place in my heart.
It's also something I never thought I'd be able to do just a couple of years ago. Training is going well, and barring injuries/illness, I hope to do well.
Any support is greatly appreciate from both myself and Perth Strathtay Harriers.
