I was staying at my mums who lives a few streets away from the tower and slept there overnight I was woken up about 1.30 am by my sister who shouted there is a fire at Grenfell Tower .
We got up looked out and could see the building burning from the window. I screamed there are families we have grown up with in there and we ran out side to see what we could do to help we got as close as we could but the police would not allow anyone to close due to health and safety and by now the building was ablaze and it was a raging inferno.
What will haunt me forever was the screams of children and seeing people at their windows screaming for help and some disappearing in flames or clouds of smoke. I just wept, the fire service tried their best but they couldn't get to everyone. I could see flames coming out of most windows on every floor.

Many of our friends and neighbours gathered around looking on in shock and horror or just wept we have never experienced anything so frightening or tragic in this area.
When we got the Christian center on Latimer Road we realized they needed us to volunteer and help the survivors that were coming thru doors. People who's homes had been burnt they had no clothing no belonging nothing just the smokey night clothes.
The raised will go to will go to the the Survivors who have now become homeless money raise will help them to set up new homes with furniture and household goods, help for legal costs that may arise Trauma therapy sessions and Any Specialist burn plastic surgery that can not be provided by NHS. Also funeral cost that may arise They need help now as the local authorities have said it may take years to pay out or even house these survivours.
