Story
I am 23 years of age and have struggled with gender dysphoria all my life, Last year I was treated in an intensive care unit as I made an attempt on my life. During my recovery I thought it was time to come out to my friends and family. It was the hardest thing I have had to do thus far in my life. Luckily I have had nothing but support, since becoming an out transgender male. Although I have support from my family they can not help me financially. On average it can take up to 7 years on the NHS to wait for surgeries. It can take up to a year just to get seen by the gender clinic after referral from the GP. I'm hoping to raise some funds so I have the opportunity to get private consultations and even surgeries if I am able to raise enough money. I am unable to work, due to disability, I had severe seizures a few years back as my epilepsy flared, since then I have a weakness on my left side, which stops me being able to work a regular job. I just simply don't have enough income to go private but I am saving and saving with little money I receive through my personal independence payments. I just can't wait 7 years, its impossible living in the body I have been given. Any support would be appreciated. Thankyou for taking the time to read my story.
