People of the Shankill community.

In 2022 we erected a Platinum Jubilee artwork at Crimea Street, in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The artwork captured the imagination and attention of people far and near across the globe, highlighting our love for Crown and country. Sadly, the Queen has now passed, and now we look to the future, and the Coronation of our new King, Charles III. We have all heard of the historic ‘King’s Shilling’, therefore in 2023, to mark the Coronation, we are asking each member of our community to contribute a ‘King’s Pound’, which will go towards the erection of an artwork on the Shankill Road, dedicated to His Majesty The King. This will be your artwork, and it will be an artwork to be proud of, as together the nation welcomes to the Throne, King Charles III. If you are able to donate, please do, it will be greatly appreciated. And when you walk along the Shankill Road and see the artwork in place, you will be able to say, “I helped to put that there.”
