I've raised £1000 to make repairs to the Club's entrance after an attempted break in and enhance security in that area.

Story

In the early hours of Tuesday (19th) morning, 2 individuals tried to gain access to our Club after have caused significant damage to our bar entrance. A 40 year old building has enough issues without the acts of these individuals. The main damage has been done to the door itself that will either need replacing or reinforcing with metal frame with an additional gate to improve the Club's security.

Our grounds staff are all volunteers that work daily to maintain the King George V so that the experience of all people is a positive one, they certainly do not need to be greeted by these conditions when arriving for voluntary hours.

Although the Club is growing, this significant cost is simply not something we account for having to spend and are asking friends in our community to support us in raising the money for the repairs. Members of the Club want the Clubhouse to become a real hub for our 34 teams so that boys, girls, men and women of GTFC and their families can enjoy a friendly atmosphere when visiting. Had the 2 been successful in gaining entry, the damage could have been so much worse
