13 Years of Hope, Two Final IVF Chances – Can Guernsey Help? 🇬🇬❤️
Someone very dear to me now has two final chances to make her dream of having a baby come true
I'm raising money for a much-loved family member here in Guernsey who has endured years of emotional, physical and financial hardship while trying to fulfil her dream.
It's heartbreaking watching someone you love go through so much, only for money to become yet another obstacle.
I've helped her financially as much as I can, but I can't do it alone. That's why I'm asking for help.
For personal and medical reasons, she wishes to remain anonymous, and I hope everyone will understand and respect that. Where possible, I hope to share updates while protecting her privacy.
Why we're asking for £5,000
IVF treatment isn't available in Guernsey, meaning patients must travel off-island for treatment and face considerable additional expenses.
The overall cost of her fertility journey — including previous treatments, medication, scans, flights, accommodation and other related expenses — could reach £35,000 or more.
We're not expecting to raise all of that.
Our £5,000 fundraising goal would help cover part of these costs and ease some of the financial burden.
We know it's a huge amount to ask for, especially when so many people have their own financial worries.
But even the smallest contribution could make a real difference.
A little Guernsey spirit! 🇬🇬
Here in Guernsey, people needing IVF face the difficult reality of travelling away from home and paying for treatment themselves.
Meanwhile, Jersey has managed to get one up on us! 🤦♀️ Jersey's government offers IVF funding to those who qualify.
Come on, Guernsey! We can't let Jersey have all the bragging rights, can we? 🇬🇬❤️
Our little island has such a wonderful community spirit, and I'm hoping that together we might be able to make something extraordinary happen.
Every little bit of kindness matters ❤️
Whether it's £5, £10, £20 or simply sharing this page with friends and family, every act of kindness means more than I can put into words.
More than anything, I'd love to return here one day with wonderful news and baby photos to share with you all.
But whatever happens, I want her to know that she gave herself these final chances and that she wasn't alone.
That people cared. That strangers showed kindness. And that her dream mattered.
To our wonderful Guernsey community, and to everyone further afield, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sometimes a little kindness from a lot of people can make an extraordinary difference.
Let's show just how much heart our little island has! 🇬🇬❤️
With heartfelt gratitude,
A family member who cares deeply.
