Story

Dear friends and family,

My husband Jon and I have been fostering Guide Dogs during their early training for 6 years now and it's fair to say that these furry little heroes have taken over our world and mean so much to us and our families.

When my lovely dad suddenly died on Boxing day, I knew that I needed to name a Guide Dog Puppy Bill, in celebration of his life.

Bill adored the dogs like they were his own and the dogs definitely felt his love and kindness, especially when he had treats!

On the 17th of September 2022 I will be facing one of my biggest fears (maybe not as big as my fear of spiders) and jumping from a plane at 15,000ft in Lancaster, in a hope to raise £2,500 which will allow me to name a future hero Guide Dog Puppy Bill.

My lovely albeit ‘must be crazy’ friend Darren Meadows-Jackson has volunteered to throw himself out of the same plane with me. Darren is kindly going to help me meet my £2,500 target and his most important job will be to make sure that I get out of the plane!

I would be so grateful if any of my family and friends would kindly sponsor us and help us to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

My dad loved each and every one of the 34 special dogs that have so far come to live with us and I know he would love that one will be named after him (he would also think that I am crackers for doing it) - But I know he will also be very proud.

The £2,500 is used to support the puppy on their early incredible journey. For someone living with sight loss, guide dogs are life changing giving confidence, independence and companionship.

With your help I'd love to name a Guide Dog Bill in memory of my most lovely dad.

Thank you so much for reading my story. I am forever grateful of your support.
