"Understanding ND: Thriving Together" is a multi-session workshop for young people in education, 11-16 / 17-25 exploring ways to thrive in life and in their studies. It’s suitable for young people with or without a formal neurodivergence diagnosis and their friends or siblings. Our facilitator has lived experience of neurodivergence and has worked extensively in education.
I didn’t know there were other people who felt the same. I like myself now.
We partner with Gloucestershire secondary schools, colleges and Universities to put on the workshops, which are delivered by a facilitator with extensive teaching experience and lived experience of ND in her own family. We don't charge for them but we need to pay our facilitator. Each workshop reaches 6-10 young people and also includes a session for staff.
I saw young people who usually shut down at school come alive here. It showed what is possible.“
Anxiety and school / college avoidance are very common in ND young people as they face the transition to adulthood. Our aim is to help them overcome the extra challenges they face and get good outcomes in education and in life.
I usually pretend to be fine at school because I don’t want to get it wrong. Here I didn’t feel like I had to.

These workshops provide vital support that makes a real difference to young people's lives, Each workshop costs £600 to deliver and we would like to deliver 10 in 2027/8, hence we're seeking to raise £6,000. Please help us keep this work going.
