Story

On Saturday 28th July 2018 we will be completing the Tough Mudder course in Yorkshire (10mile mud and obstacle course) with a group of friends to raise money and awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Lifting Louis.

Our friend’s little boy Louis was diagnosed on 19th December 2016 with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most fatal muscle wasting condition in a child. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the most common genetic killer of children worldwide and is characterised by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. Children with Duchenne like Louis usually need a wheelchair by the time they are 8-12 years old or even younger as their muscles weaken and they lose the ability to walk by the time they are in their late teens. Some boys need full time ventilation until their poor hearts give up.

Louis’ parents Laura and Phil have had great support from Duchenne UK and have now started their own little charity called Lifting Louis that solely funds Duchenne UK to help fight for Louis and all the other boys that have Duchenne.

90% of donations to Duchenne go directly towards clinical research to find a cure for this awful disease.

Can you please sponsor what you can to help us raise as much money as we can for this charity

Thank You so much
