My name is Harry Horsfield and I am 15 years old. I will be taking part in a voluntary expedition to Tanzania where I will spend 4 weeks living in a camp in the middle of a local community. I've already raised a huge chunk of the funds needed for the expedition by selling personal possessions, doing raffles, and doing a sponsored climb of Scarfell Pike - Englands highest mountain! While in Tanzania I will be working on projects such as irrigation projects, building homes for vulnerable families, building schools, and taking part in conservation and wildlife projects too. This is a fantastic project, designed to have a maximum, long term impact on the local community - ensuring that they are getting the projects that they really need to happen. Poverty is widespread in rural Tanzania, many don’t have access to clean drinking water, healthcare, education or proper sanitation, so the work we will be carrying out there is much needed and vital to them.
