As most of you will know, last year our great friend Dunc left us after a long battle with a brain tumour. His spirit and legacy will live on forever through the love of his friends and family.

Many of us close to Dunc and his family have thought and talked about what we might be able to do to keep that legacy alive. In the end it always comes down to the same thing, how to bring a smile and some happiness to his amazing wife Loes and beautiful daughter Tess.

In Dunc's memory we shall be once again dusting off the running shoes. A couple of years ago to support Dunc's battle a few of us took on the challenge of training for and running the Amsterdam Marathon. This October we plan to repeat that challenge and run the first ever Birmingham International Marathon. There will of course be other events along the way.

Our plan is to use whatever money we can raise here to do exactly that, to make two wonderful people smile. How that money is spent will be up to them, with the one condition it has to be fun! So whether that be dinner at their favourite restaurant, a day at the zoo, a trip to the beach, a trampoline, flights to visit us, a visit to Disney, a humongous ice cream sundae or a just a new book or jigsaw puzzle. As long as it creates a little happiness and a smile...
