Story

In 2010 after the heavy floods in Pakistan, some volunteers were in the Moro district in Sindh Province , helping out with flood relief when they came across a very heartbreaking sight.....many impoverished kids were just at home, unable to access any form of schooling as they were either orphaned or too poor to afford school.

One of the volunteers who is from South Africa, promised to do something about their predicament and thus the idea of Habibia School of Hope was born.

Funds were raised in South Africa initially and then in Dubai and UK. They started with 30 orphan children and a few teachers in a rented building.

Today, Alhamdulillah 130 orphans and needy children are registered across 5 grades! The children receive free uniforms, books and transport and needless to say, they have come along in leaps and bounds......thanks to regular donations and services provided by dedicated teachers and staff on the ground.

The first class in 2014.

The same class in 2018!

However, rental and running costs of the school have soared and it was decided to embark on a project that would provide a permanent school for these children and the hundreds that are still waiting to register.

A donor from the USA has kindly provided the money to purchase the land and build the school but funds are needed to sustain the daily lives of these kids.

The land has been purchased!

In addition- many animals such as donkeys and stray cats and dogs were found in the vicinity....starved and abused. An initiative called HAQ (Habibia Animal Qcare) was started to teach the local kids about animal welfare and respect for the environment. This includes renting some fields to house the animals, carers and vet visits on a regular basis.

It would be awesome if we can help them to fulfill these very noble tasks!! Each child that is educated, helps to uplift their community!!

Please donate generously and forward to friends and family.
