Story
We are a network of over 60 local community organisations working together to address food poverty in Hackney. Together we have provided over 600,000 food parcels and cooked meals in the past 18 months for Hackney residents in need of support. We expect the number of people needing support this winter to increase due to rises in food and utilities costs and the food supply we have from surplus and current donations is not enough to meet these needs.
We need your help to buy essential food supplies this winter to support the most vulnerable in our borough. You can help by donating to our Winter Food Fund, all money donated will go directly towards buying food and essential household items for those in need. All donations are welcome.
How your donation will help:
- £5 will ensure a household has fresh fruit and vegetables
- £10 provides a grocery bag of staples, such as pasta and rice
- £20 provides an older person with essential food for a week
- £35 will feed a family for a week
- £150 will feed a family of four for a month with a little extra for treats.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
You can also volunteer your time or donate food directly to one of our shared food hubs - click here for more details.
