What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Creative Minds.

Meredith, 12 years old, decided for her summer vacation she would like to do something different, to give something back to society. She wanted to repay the support she (and us as parents) received from the Northamptonshire Dyslexia Association. Hiking 91 miles was her idea too! Her aim is to raise awareness and monies for the Northamptonshire Dyslexia Association, that will part fund a workshop in the autumn to help other children, parents and adults learn how to live with Dyslexia.

Planning to do it the hard way. True Hiking!

The route is planned. We are going West to East, hoping to complete the walk in 8 days (including a day of rest mid week to let the legs recover). We have decided to do things the hard way, carrying all our own camping equipment. No support vehicle, no posted ahead belongings! Finishing in a motel in Newcastle City. The entire trip and all equipment is funded entirely by ourselves and not donations.

Ready to Ramble

Training has taken us to the Lake District, the Brecon Beacons and the Derbyshire Dales. We have refined our kit, and put some miles in our legs. In the process we have enjoyed each others company and experienced some wonderful time together. Look out for our photos on facebook (@HadriansWall4NDA) or twitter #hadrianswall4NDA.

We made it! 91 miles, from coast to coast. It has been an amazing journey, challenging at times, particularly the hot middle section. The experience will last with us for ever. The entire adventure was Meredith’s idea. I will never forget the determination and desire Meredith possesses to achieve her aims. Please accept our sincere thanks for your support, you have made a huge difference on our journey, knowing you were watching and cheering us on. Collectively we have raised £3150. THANK YOU SO MUCH Day 7

Hi Everyone, today is our 7th and last day of walking. Yesterday we pushed ourselves for 17 miles to leave us a leisurely 11 miles of the 91 to go. Hadrian’s wall ends in 4 and we have a further 7 to the coast. It has been a tough yet amazing journey and your support has been incredible both through social media and in your appetite to generously support Meredith’s cause. This morning your donations reached a staggering £3100. We cannot thank you enough. Our video of yesterday can be found at this link:

Hi everyone, we’re back on our feet and have now completed 63 of 91 miles. The day has been leisurely in comparison to the earlier hilly sections. The old stone wall has disappeared and we are left with the earthworks and meadow. Tomorrow we have changed our plans to push on into Newcastle-upon-Tyne with the prize of Monday off, if we can complete the last 28 miles in the next 2days. As it stands you have helped us raise a fantastic £2,900 to date. Thank you so much. Today’s video can be found using the link
