Story
Creative Minds.
Meredith, 12 years old, decided for her summer vacation she would like to do something different, to give something back to society. She wanted to repay the support she (and us as parents) received from the Northamptonshire Dyslexia Association. Hiking 91 miles was her idea too! Her aim is to raise awareness and monies for the Northamptonshire Dyslexia Association, that will part fund a workshop in the autumn to help other children, parents and adults learn how to live with Dyslexia.
Planning to do it the hard way. True Hiking!
The route is planned. We are going West to East, hoping to complete the walk in 8 days (including a day of rest mid week to let the legs recover). We have decided to do things the hard way, carrying all our own camping equipment. No support vehicle, no posted ahead belongings! Finishing in a motel in Newcastle City. The entire trip and all equipment is funded entirely by ourselves and not donations.
Ready to Ramble
Training has taken us to the Lake District, the Brecon Beacons and the Derbyshire Dales. We have refined our kit, and put some miles in our legs. In the process we have enjoyed each others company and experienced some wonderful time together. Look out for our photos on facebook (@HadriansWall4NDA) or twitter #hadrianswall4NDA.
