Story

Juliet nearly died of organ failure while on a dream holiday in Cape Verde has been left with a £30,000 medical bill because she had not informed her insurer she was taking sleeping tablets.

She collapsed just four days into her trip and needed a blood transfusion and an emergency operation to remove a benign tumour from her kidney, which was causing internal bleeding and nearly led to organ failure. She then had to be airlifted to Tenerife for emergency surgery.

Juliet had never had any previous health problems was in intensive care when her travel insurance company said they would not pay the cost of treatment because she had not disclosed she had taken sleeping tablets before she took out the policy. They added the policy was for people with no pre existing conditions or for people who had not taken prescribed medication in the past 5 years. However Juliet only took 10 sleeping tablets in total and had stopped them before taking out the policy therefore did not feel this had any relevance as she did not think she had a medical condition.

This has left Juliet in a very distressed situation and now faces the very worrying task of raising the £30,000 to pay for the medical bill and says she may need to remortgage her home.. Please help in any way with any type of donation as this is something that most of us could do without realising. I know Juliet will be so touched by your help.
