I've raised £600 to run the Manchester Half Marathon in May. Donations will go to the Scoliosis Assoc. for my sister Lucy who's having spinal surgery this year.

We all sometimes have to do things that we don't want to do, right? Well, for Lucy that time has finally come and she's taken the brave decision to have spinal fusion surgery after suffering from scoliosis since her early teens which has worsened in her thirties. This is Lucy's last xray showing her 80º curve:
This major surgery will mean her spine is straightened using metal rods, screws and wires along with bits of bone taken from other parts of the body to fuse together her vertebrae. Her spine will be stablised, strengthened as well as straightened - she will probably grow an inch or two!
The UK Scoliosis Association receives no government funding and exists to provide information, support, put people affected by scoliosis in touch with each other, and raise awareness of the condition. Visit SAUK for more info.
So, in the theme of doing things we don't want to do I will (mostly) be running in the Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run Half Marathon on 20th May 2018. After only taking up running 3 years ago from doing a Couch-to-5k app, to then doing the Manchester 10k in May 2016 I said I'd never do any more events but here we are, doing double the distance - eek! PLEASE GIVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN - it will really motivate me in my final weeks of training and getting through it on the day.
Thank you xx
(PS SAUK do not have a page on justgiving.com hence the crowdfunding page. When fundraising is complete I'll send them a cheque directly)
