Story
All my life, I harbored a dream of becoming a doctor, driven by a deep-seated desire to care for others. However, life took an unexpected turn, forcing me to halt my education at the tender age of 9, thwarting my aspirations. Yet, through an unforeseen journey, I've come to realize that my dream can still be achieved, albeit in a different form.
Nearly a decade ago, Ella's, a charity dedicated to supporting survivors of trafficking, introduced me to Luminary Bakery, where I discovered the transformative art of baking. Graduating in 2016 marked a turning point in my life as I began seeking opportunities to pay forward the incredible impact that learning to bake had on me. Today, I am prepared to extend this life-changing experience to fellow survivors.
I envision a small, welcoming café that not only serves delightful coffee and cake but also serves as a safe haven for survivors like me. My goal is to impart baking and barista skills, ultimately providing employment opportunities. Over the past seven years, I've diligently honed my skills as a baker, barista, florist, business owner, and teacher. This journey has not only equipped me with the expertise needed for this venture but has also given me a clear plan for success. Supported by a network of like-minded individuals, the only missing piece of the puzzle is financial security.
This project isn't just about opening a shop; it's a social initiative aimed at helping survivors thrive in life. My dream is to establish not only a source of financial stability for myself but, more importantly, a haven of happiness and support for those who cross its threshold. I aspire to create something I am profoundly proud of—a venture that cares, heals, and nurtures individuals.
Throughout my journey, I've acquired valuable knowledge and experience, building a foundation for a successful business. Now, with your support, I hope to raise £10,000 to turn this dream into reality. 'When women rise, we all rise.' Join me in creating a space that uplifts, empowers, and fosters positive change—one cup of coffee and slice of cake at a time.
