Dear all,

I would like to explain myself with a little background. I am Hamid Wafa, an Afghan refugee in Athens, Greece. I have been here since January 2016. I fled my country Afghanistan. In the past I was very satisfied with my job, friends, colleagues, my beloved family and university in Kabul. But then the crisis in Afghanistan started.

I had plenty of dreams and ambitions that I wanted to accomplish for my people in Afghanistan. I worked and got experience as an English interpreter, English instructor and Database Administrator in private company in the capital city of Afghanistan. Kabul had been the city with the best possibilities such as good schools, universities, English classes, variety of schools for boys and girls each with a bright future, for those who are pursuing their education to follow their dreams. I couldn’t get any of my dreams and ambitions.

I suffered insecurity, injustice, discrimination, animosity, instability and many other forms of violation in Afghanistan. Since arriving in Athens I have commenced teaching English classes in a camp as well as in Khora Community centre, despite being a Afghani refugee in Athens. I am in serious financial problems and I even don’t have any income to support myself and to continue my education. Fortunately I have visited and mentioned my plight to Mr. Frank who has been my colleague and the best and nearest friend of mine. I really realize now that that now close, generous, beneficial, healthiest friend you are for me. He has offered to help fundraise a computer for me. Therefore I want to study and follow my skills in computer science in order to be a professional through your contributions. I would be eternally grateful and when I manage to come to the UK I will visit you all face to face.

1) What have you done in Afghanistan?

Being curious, I have worked privately as a Database administrator or English instructor and a Web Designer in Afghanistan. Therefore, I have recently graduated of computer science from college and I was a student at Kabul university studying Graphic Design. As an English instructor in Afghanistan I have taught English in private institutes in Afghanistan with male and female students. As a Database Administrator, I organised databases on my computer with a private company (Microsoft Office Specialist, Star Educational Society). Because of many constant problems in Afghanistan like insecurity, injustice, discrimination and many other forms of violations, I left my country

2) Why do you need a laptop?

I need a laptop urgently, because I have much experience of as a Database Administrator and “Web Designer” in Afghanistan. I have recently graduated with computer science from college and computer class.

I have great interest in computer science and constantly put my endeavours and all out efforts to excel in every walk of my life. It’s my hope and belief that I would be a professional graphic designer and a Web Designer which has a strong platform for my future career aspirations and goals.

Since I left my country and my job I haven’t had access to a computer yet. I live in a camp in Greece where there are some possibilities for education. Therefore I also need a computer to continue my education.

3) What do you want in the future?

With my eyes clearly set on my goals, I want a laptop to be a professional Graphic Designer and Web Designer in future. Therefore I really need help from JustGiving to help get laptop for my future.

4) Which laptop do you need?

Any sort of laptop you can help is need but I would like to have an Apple MAC laptop which is extremely suitable to support any kind of heavy application and high graphics.

Helping Apple laptop, I will be committed to my work such as Graphic Designer, Web Designer, English teacher and many other activities.
