We have recently made some big changes to Hammerwood Scout Campsite to develop and inclusive, accessible, all-weather area for all users of our scout campsite. Unfortunately, due to having to close this year because of Covid-19, we have had no income since March. As such, we are not able to finance the finishing touches to the area - such as planting bushes and providing picnic benches.

We really hope to be able to raise some money to get these items purchased and installed before we reopen to young people. We are looking to raise a total of £1000 to make this happen! We are hoping to fund at least 6 picnic table and benches, including a wheelchair accessible one, and shrubbery and plants to fill 54m2 of beds! If you wonderful people are super generous, we would love to be able to add some trellis to smarten up the buildings, and planters to create a kitchen garden for young people to use, and purchase a small amount of paint for the building's exterior, giving this wonderful new spaces the finishing touches it deserves.

Hammerwood Scout Campsite is a 28 acre, back-to-basics, woodland campsite run entirely by a small team of volunteers. Over the last few weeks, between a small group of us, we have volunteered around 400 hours of hard work to get to where we have! We couldn't do what we do without people willing to give their precious time, but it has come to the point, particularly with the current crisis, where we need to ask nicely for some generous donations - every little helps!

We are very grateful for your support and each penny will go back into this space for the young people to enjoy for years to come, as so many of us have over the years.
