Story

The Hampton's Resourcing team are raising money for a Warwickshire based charity called the Friendship Project by holding a Charity Quiz Night on Friday 6th October 2017 at the Old Leamingtonians Rugby Club

In these times the larger close-knit family is not so common. Pressures on the family can be large, and often members of the larger family outside the home are dispersed throughout the country. As a result children may feel isolated or rejected by the family or society. This may be because of the problems they have, or problems elsewhere inside the family. So some Children may lack a parent, an older brother or sister, uncles or aunts, grandparents, older friend to take an interest in them.

Through the charities volunteers (Older Friends) they aim to meet this need.

Activities are very wide ranging, depending on the interests of the two Friends - swimming, parks and play areas, library, bowling, badminton, arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, computers, cinema, Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Scouts - in fact anything the child will enjoy and will develop character and self esteem.

The Volunteer is a Friend to the Child and does not take the place of professional workers who may be involved. The Older Friends find these friendships to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
