Story
In 2023 my younger brother was diagnosed with Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS). VSS is a neurological disorder that impacts visual perception, sensory processing, auditory function, and cognitive abilities. Visual snow includes constant perception of static, flashing lights and blinking dots occurring 24/7.
As a family we had never come across this condition before and for many years VSS has been misinterpreted and dismissed, negatively impacting the mental health of those affected. There is currently no known cure.
Over the last few years I have watched my brother courageously take on VSS and learn coping mechanisms to continue day-to-day life. I could not be more proud of him.
Due to the fantastic work of the Visual Snow Initiative, global VSS experts are collaborating to study and develop solutions, advancing research and treatment options for those affected. Since VSI's founding in 2018, there has been a quadrupling of recognition across clinical and public domains.
Please help us raise funds to support the Visual Snow Initiative's research, and all of the people suffering from what is a life changing and often debilitating condition.
