On the 25th September 2016 I will be completing a 15,000ft skydive in aid of Heidi Roberts.

Heidi Roberts is a 36 year old woman. She qualified as a nurse in 2002 and is very well respected in her profession. She most recently worked at Royal Liverpool Hospital in the Intensive Therapy Unit.

In 2012 Heidi received the devastating news that she had breast cancer. This news was a shock to her but she remained strong. She continued with her day to day activities and also with work.

Heidi was willing to try all she could to beat the horrible illness and underwent many sessions of chemotherapy. Throughout the treatment she remained very positive and was determined to beat it despite all the hard times ahead of her.

However, Heidi received some more devastating new 12 months post her initial diagnosis that the cancer had progressed and was now also had secondary lung cancer.

She continued for 4 years with the chemotherapy and even took part in a clinical trial to try and defeat her illness. These have proved to be so far unsuccessful and are massively taking their toll on her.

Unfortunately, Heidi had to take early retirement from her position as a nurse as she became too ill to work. This was not an easy decision for her to make as it is a job she loves so much. She did not want to give in but was left with no choice.

Treatment is running out in the UK for Heidi and she has now been looking to seek treatment elsewhere. After hours of research by her and her husband Paul they together found a clinic in Germany that offer advanced treatment not available in the UK. The treatment they provide has been proven to be very effective. This treatment however is very expensive and costs in the region of £50,000.00.

So far around £12,000 has been raised there is still a long way to go and any donation however small is massively appreciated.
