I've raised £80000 to Get Glyn his life saving kidney surgery.

I’ve watched my beautiful, courageous, kind and caring husband fade dramatically over the last two years but the last six months have been awful.
My ex pro rugby playing, CrossFit loving, fired up for life husband is getting sicker and sicker by the day it seems. He’s been on dialysis for the past nine months and has steadily been declining in health. I am watching the light fade in his eyes. It is agony.
As anyone who knows him will testify he is an uncomplaining beauty who still gives his all to bring light and life to those around him.
But he has lost energy, appetite, weight and muscle by the kilo, but worst of all is feeling like his body is unbearable to be in. He is literally never comfortable any more. He is so utterly exhausted that beyond work he has no energy for anything. Weekends are recovery. But sleep is elusive.
Our world has closed in as his needs demand quiet and rest. We no longer socialise together or go very far from home. His dialysis machine makes going away a huge faff and on the whole he just doesn’t feel well enough for anything much.
The dialysis isn’t working like it’s meant to. His symptoms are getting worse rapidly, the medical team seem at a loss and his blood pressure is dangerously high which leaves him at high risk of cardiac failure and stroke. We live with the knowledge that he could die anytime.
He needs a transplant urgently. He’s been on the waiting list for over two years now.
His sister Ana was a perfect match but due to her kidney consultant taking six biopsy samples in one go, causing internal bleeding which subsequently resulted in a deep vein thrombosis, she can no longer donate. He has had hope snatched away leaving Ana with months of pain and devastated that she cannot help her beloved brother and Glyn having to endure this horrendous experience while still having to work full time to provide for our family.
I am seeking to raise funds to go privately for medical testing for me and a friend who want to be assessed for donation. And further to pay to have the transplant done privately.
Within the NHS this process takes a minimum of six months and that’s with zero hurdles. There are ALWAYS hurdles. It’s then another six months for a theatre space. If we go privately we can get the testing wrapped up in EIGHT WEEKS! If one of us is a match we can move forward and book in for the transplant within weeks. This could mean Glyn could be looking at a transplant around Christmas time! We could possibly be giving him the chance of a fresh start at life in just four months time!
Asking for this type of help feels incredibly alien to us and Glyn has not asked me to do this but I know that he is loved by many and that there are many who would love to be able to help get him well again and able to see him live and enjoy life again. If that’s you, please do contribute whatever you are able or just share this page. We are eternally grateful for all the love, friendship and support that we are surrounded with.
I'm hoping to raise £80,000 towards the cost of medical testing and transplant. The transplant alone is £80,000.
If you feel you would like to be considered to be a kidney donor for Glyn please do get in touch-the more potential donors we have the greater chance for a match. We’re DESPERATE!
