Hello, my name is Hannah and I'm a 17 year old who is currently volunteering in Tanzania (SE of Africa) teaching English & Maths to 38 students ranging from 4 - 12 years old. I am a full time college student studying public services. When making the decision to volunteer in Tanzania at local schools, I wanted to do something meaningful and give back to a community that wasnt as fortunate as we are in the Western world and volunteering seemed a perfect fit. I have adored my time out here so far and will continue to share my experience through social media. What has been a massive reality check for me while here is the lack of resources the students and the schools have available. While my time is a massive resource to the school and community, there is only so much I can do alone. It has been heartbreaking to see the overcrowding of classrooms, lack of everyday resources such as pencils, toothbrushes and just basic hygiene needs. I have set up this go fund me with the intention to ask family, friends and anyone that would be willing to give anything to help support me to give back to such a beautiful and loving community. Any donations will go back into keeping the school running and helping to create a sustainable future for the children here that I have already fallen in love with. Any little helps and I (and especially them!) will appreciate it.
