On 24th May 2017, our son Jasper was born just over three months prematurely. Despite doctors' best efforts, sadly he passed away several hours later.

We were supported by a charity called Towards Tomorrow Together who give much needed support to bereaved parents in many ways. One means of support they provide is by donating memory boxes to hospitals which help capture treasured memories that are then given to bereaved parents. The boxes contain a wide range of items including a blanket for parents to wrap their baby in, an SD card so the hospital can take pictures for the parents to keep, a clay kit for taking hand / footprints, inkless wipes and special paper for also taking hand / footprints, an especially blended mix of essential oils, a book, other publications with information and support and much much more.

Jasper's memory box has provided us with so much comfort and we have also received so much moral support from people we have connected with through Towards Tomorrow Together. The hand and foot prints taken have meant that I could have a pendant made which I wear and feel that I can carry Jasper close to me everyday. Staff at Worcester Royal Hospital provided us with fantastic care but the contents of this memory box added to the care that they provided and made the desperately sad day just a little bit more bearable.

The West Midlands branch of the charity is now setting up as a charity in its own right called HUGS (Help, Understanding, Guidance and Support). They are in the process of applying for charity status and we will donated funds to them as soon as they are set up. We would like to support this small but amazing charity in memory of Jasper. The money raised will go directly to making up the memory boxes which will be donated to different hospitals in the West Midlands. Each box costs in the region of £30 to produce. The hope is that we will be able to donate memory boxes in memory of Jasper and that they will provide families with some comfort at a desperately dark time.

We have already raised £1050 through various fundraising we have done since November last year. On May 27th, we will be doing a sponsored hike with friends and family on the Black Mountains to raise further funds and hopefully exceed are target of £1500. We are really grateful for the continued support from so many people around us and it means so much that we are able to do something to remember and celebrate our little boy in a positive way.
