Story

Im rubbish at having my hair cut and this was my inspiration to not only have it cut but to help children that have lost their hair to cancer or other illnesses by donating it to Princess Trust. At the same time someone I work with said that I should raise money at the same time. There was one person that came to mind and that was Holly my 11 year old neighbour.

Since we moved into our home over 5 years ago we've had such a lovely family next door. After a few years Suddenly poor Holly started having seizures and after further examinations and operations it was discovered that it was cancer. She had a rare brain tumour. Ive never seen such a strong and determined little girl, she never let anything get in her way to beat this and was so brave throughout radio and chemotherapy. I spoke to Claire, her mum, regularly to see how things were going and how they both were, we all remained positive that she would beat this. After what seemed to be a great start to recovery poor Holly was told that the cancer had returned and there was now nothing more that could be done, she was now in pallative care. Devastated by the news I couldnt even begin to imagine what this family were going through. Claire had been unable to work as she has had to support and care for Holly. This has been such a sad story and is very close to my heart, especially as they live next door, and witnessing the rollercoaster they've been through and are still going through I felt that I could do this to not only help children that have lost their hair to cancer or other illnesses but at the same time see if I can raise some money to help Claire as she cares for Holly but also the nurses at Keech that continue to help Holly and Claire.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that no matter how small you may be able to help me to help them. Sometimes its the little things that count and knowing there are people out there wanting to help can make such a difference.
