Hi!

In October 2018 I will be travelling to Sri Lanka for a month to do some volunteer work. During my placement, I will be sharing and developing my skills working across a variety of projects with a wide range of people from the local community, of all ages and backgrounds. As well as mental health work in hospitals and care homes, I will be helping with children's projects, teaching English and I will be working with people with special needs.

In Scotland, I have volunteered at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, working with people with mental health difficulties. In addition, in my part time work I have worked with children and adolescents with additional support needs.

The placement will provide me with a great deal of challenging, hands-on experience. It will also provide me with insight into a different culture.
