Story
My mum is a school librarian and she is incredibly passionate about helping children to read and to develop a love of reading. She runs book clubs and is involved in literacy programmes throughout Warrington. The pupils at her school love their library - it is a safe haven and a fun place for them to go whenever they need/want it.
Unfortunately, she has had her budget slashed and won't be able to buy the books she needs for next year.
I have always had a love of reading and most of that comes down to my mum. I want to help her to buy the books she needs for her school library. Therefore, I have made the ridiculous decision to run the Berlin Marathon a mere six months after giving birth to a 10-pound bruiser (a cute one, yes, but it does mean my race bag will be stocked with Tena Lady pads in addition to protein bars....).
In short, I am prepared to put my body through immeasureable pain for the second time this year, so that those darned kids will get their books. Please think of their joy or my blistered feet - whichever most compels you to pay up.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Lots of love,
Hannah
