In April 2019, two of my colleagues and I will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. We will be completing an ascent of 1,532m across the 3 Peaks of the Yorkshire Dales in under 12 hours. https://www.charitychallenge.com/expedition/2915/Yorkshire-3-Peaks-Challenge

We will be raising money for the residents of Dudbrook Hall - a care home in our local community. The money donated to the home will go into the residents fund. This will be used to take the residents on days out and to get entertainment in.

Not only do Dudbrook Hall care for the elderly, but also those with memory impairments and Dementia. Living with Dementia can have a big emotional, social, psychological and practical impact on a person which can often lead to isolation and loneliness. One of my own family members since her dementia on set became a resident at Dudbrook Hall and the care and attention she has received has been outstanding. She is living a much better quality of life, and interacting with the other residents on a daily basis. She is healthy and happy - something I had not seen in her for a long time when she was living alone. This is something that my family and I are continually grateful for, hence why I want to help any way I can. As I'm sure lot's of other families do too!

For anyone who has family/friends at Dudbrook Hall and would like to leave a donation, please feel free to leave a comment of any ideas you have for the money. Maybe a certain activity you'd like to see done in/outside of the home, or somewhere in particular you'd like to see your loved one(s) visit! Could even be an addition the home you think will benefit the residents. I can then pass this onto the care team and hopefully we'll see a few of these ideas become reality.
