Story
Hannah, who is a young lady living with Rett Syndrome which is a rare neurological disorder resulting in a profound disability requiring 24/7 life long care.
We are raising money for the Sequel Trust in order for them to purchase a Tobii Dynavox ACC Device.
This Eye Gaze device uses an infrared bar that tracks Hannah’s eye movements allowing her to have a voice and communicate her needs, wishes and feelings.
I have supported Hannah for the past year and know the struggles she faces without the use of this device. Currently as a team we use her body language as a tool for her communication. As you can imagine this can be extremely hard for Hannah when she's trying to tell us something that we may not be able to pick up on. By having this device Hannah will be able to communicate all her wishes and as a team we will be able to communicate back to her. Imagine going a day with no voice, I tried this during a shift with Hannah and for the short period of time I tried this I felt the frustration she must face on a day to day basis.
If you would like to know more about RETT Syndrome or Hannah's journey then please send me a message.
This device will cost over £8000 so we have a long way to go and with your support and the Sequel Trusts support we will give Hannah the voice she desires.
Thank you
