Everyone who knows us knows how much we love Pirates Village especially Hannah and Lachie and how close it is to their hearts and this made it easy when asked what they wanted to do for their next fundrasing.

Hannah and Lachie will now be doing to Mini Great North Run 2018 dressed as Pirates to help raise funds for Iker & Lucia or Ike and Lucy as they are affectionately known in Pirates Village fundraising comic the Incredible Adventures of Ike and Lucy.

Iker is 10 years old and has a type of cerebral paralysis called Tetraparesis and because of that his limbs are very weak and needs a medical walker to be able to move. Lucia is 4 years old and has Joubert-Syndrome and because of that can't co-ordinate her body (can't walk , grab things or eat through her mouth). Despite this we see them smile during their brief visits at Pirates Village , referred to as their Neverland by Lucia's father Tito.

The funds raised will be split evenly between these two increbile children and hopefully help them achieve their dreams most of us take for granted - to walk, play , run , laugh and swim. The money will help with equipement at home , help from Specilialist and costs invloved and generally to help give them the best chance possible.

Hannah and Lachie will be very grateful indeed for every donation to help these two children who have become so close to their hearts through the excellent comic idea and seeing them at their favourite place.

Lucia's father Tito sent me the following .....

The comic was an idea once we (daddy´s of Ike and Lucy)sat with Cristian Roses (Pirates Village) in his office a few years back to start something new and special

I remember my words once Cristian (in the name of Pirates Village) offered to do something for our kids…Lets create something unique and different…something that will make other kids enjoy and in a way make our kids heroes in an adventured surrounded by all actors that they play with in Pirates Village that would make other kids admire Ike and Lucy in a special way!

The comic began to get into shape and we made it be a dream for Ike and Lucy as in that dream they would live a beautiful adventure with great pirates that we all well know…and that dream came true for all of us…as we had a great chance to become friends and part of Pirates Villages for a long time! This comic has gave us life and happiness as i was scared seeing my daughter grow and seeing little progress in becoming a normal girl in life…she’s just a kid..like any others. Ike was older and he's advances and progress gives us hope too…so it was a great mix to go along in an adventure

So once the comic was finished we love it…and we didn't´t really now how to place it…Cristian gave us the opportunity to present it before the main show on Thursday and give in an opportunity to win a price of a great holiday as you know if you seen the presentation. First time it was on stage…before the Actors finish the speech…i was dreaming of joy…so i wanted Lucia and Ike to be on stage to thank all…so for now until Lucia grows stronger i am her legs…so up i went up on stage with her on my arms and Ike…. and the feeling of seeing all actors kids parents staff and families looking and clapping at us made us live the dream itself!

Since then i can wait to Thursday to come each week in summer…cause walking in a place i call our Neverland…i walk into the dream again and became a very proud father with my daughter in my arms…i know there is our place…staff and clients just walk along and smile at us…sometimes i see someone with tears but they never of sadness…if they get closer too i say they should not be sad as Lucia is a very happy kid…and the magic is always there…this project and what everyone has given us…is more that we ever thought people would give to us…and all for these two happy fighters in live…born to fight…and there they are with big smiles on their faces!

All this is made people and kids understand more our special kids…as they see them in a special surrounding with all this magic touch of a show ready to begin..

So yes this comic has done its job really good!!!Something that one day i thought was to help my girl and Ike…i thing has help a hole two families in a really beautiful way…

i and really happy for this news and for sure Ike family too as Ike father runs a lot of competitions and even this autumn he has prepared a race to with Ike to raise money for other kids!but this he know more and sadly his english is not as good as mine….close to Mo's jaja…but even worst jeje…anyway we will try to get more of Ike's info soon…now of course i write trough my feelings that of course are happiness and love…and more to all those that have made something for our kids since all this project started long ago….
