Weʼre raising £500 to help fund activities and resources for our patients at the Dermot Muphy Centre.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My name is Hannah and I am the Social Event Co-ordinator at The Dermot Murphy Centre.
The Dermot Murphy Centre is a 22-bed ‘NHS Continuing Healthcare’ unit for patients with complex physical health needs who need nursing or personal care. The centre has 21 beds for long-stay residents and one respite bed for short-term care. Nursing staff provide specialist 24-hour nursing skills to a broad range of highly dependent people including those with severe multiple disabilities following acquired brain or other complex injuries or those diagnosed with progressive neurological, respiratory, cardiac, renal musculoskeletal or gastrointestinal diseases.
My role is to provide social events for the Unit to include residents, relatives, staff and visitors. I organise and arrange outdoor activities for residents at regular intervals e.g. park visits, cinema trips, going out for lunch, short breaks etc. This is all done woth a view to promote social interaction.
I want to be able to do my job in the best way that I can by making sure that I provide enough opportunities for the wonderful patients at Dermot Murphy.
I am asking for the help of you my friends, family and the local community to help support me in trying to provide the best that I can and make everyone the patients, the staff and the relatives proud.
