Story

We're raising money for our "Happy Hub" to provide creative wellbeing support within our community and beyond.

Please help us drive amazing creative opportunities for self expression and social interaction out to people of all ages and all walks of life so they can find the support they need to cope with mental health and well being issues.

This funding is to help us provide our social prescription service and offer our extended services like

Our mission and why are now getting our first location?

Previously, when researching about the need for wellbeing services here in Kent, including recovering from a pandemic and official “evidence of need”, we felt that our intention wouldn’t be properly met if we focussed solely on one premise, but in fact found there is a bigger need for a remote service outreach so we can reach more people and, in future, extend our outreach with more Happy Bus therefore helping more people. We achieved this with the help from The National Lottery Community Fund, Crowdfunding and other sources.

Now, we are embarking on a wellbeing hub as we have tested this idea in and around Herne Bay and Kent over the last year. Now we are ready. We've found the location (the Founder's late Father's previous pottery shop back in 1982) in New Street in Herne bay and the owners have graciously allowed us to use this premise 3 days a week to begin with.

We aim to provide: conversation (and good coffee/tea!), business and debt advice, holistic healing, music and art therapy, vocal and performance coaching, adopt a plant garden area, therapy room, merchandise, where the community help us provide these by joining in the workshops to make them. Maybe it's just someone to help you finish a job application?

We now have many partnerships with local charities and referral advice like Porchlight, We Are With You, NHS Kent and Medway, Food Psychologist, Therapists, Financial and debit advice health checker, referral information area, hardship grant help for 16 - 24 year olds, fuel vouchers for home bills and more.

We also have a national phone helpline 0800 999 1907 to extend our services beyond where we travel and after hours support if they can’t visit us while we’re on the road, and indeed find out where we are next.

What is Happy Here?

Happy Here provides a remote conversational places with the space to connect both creatively and holistically. A place where you can be heard with compassion, non-judgement and care. We aim to provide a creative and calm remote space with our Happy van by way of social prescribing, be that through connecting with nature in community gardens, healing through music and art or engaging with one of the many other artistic and creative options.

We are proud allies and PRIDE ourselves on being a safe space for ALL regardless of your sexuality, faith, age, gender, disability or race.

Love HH Team <3

P.S We hope to see you in our Happy Bus! :) https://www.happyhere.me/thehappybus
