Story

Just one week to go before I pedal my way from London to Brighton on a cross country covering 54 miles. Though it will prove to be a personal physical challenge, I will be riding to represent the 'Happy to Help' team with their unified goal of achieving something greater.

The Background

'Happy to Help' was established in December 2013, inspired by the bravery of Milan Singh who was battling cancer of the abdomen at the tender age of three. Under the care of the Great Ormond Street Hospital, he successfully fought off the cancer and and was back to living a normal, playful childhood. However, in the Summer of 2015, Milan was diagnosed with AML leukaemia (a form of blood cancer) where sadly, his battle came to an end whilst awaiting a match for a bone marrow transplant. We have since aspired to carry on the work we began, in Milan's memory and for the many other children and families facing the same predicament.

Happy to Help has developed relationships with The Anthony Nolan Trust, Delete Blood Cancer, Help for Heroes, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Little Haven's Hospice for Children, raising over £54,000. Evidently, your donations will be crucial in extending our aid further as well as expanding the organisation worldwide (having completed projects in UK, US, China, Peru and Tanzania). With zero overhead or internal admin fees, a little can really go a long way.

The donations raised from this bike ride will be split between two of the causes we support, namely Little Haven's Hospice and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. It will be used to buy Fabian machines, a piece of equipment which is used to help babies to breathe easier so they can sleep without difficulty during their treatment.

Thank you in advance for your support which will give me the determination to reach the Brighton pier where after laying down our flag, I may perhaps write your names in the sand (or rather pebbles..) =)
