Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
I am an 18 year old girl who appreciates what people do for me, mainly God, and to show my appreciation to him I would love to change other people’s lives like he changed mine. I grew up in Zimbabwe until the age of 11; I was always moving houses and was never settled in one place with the same people for more than a year. I used to live with people that would fight over and over again which at some point would make me feel unwanted, terrified, unsettled, and uncomfortable and just never feeling the goodness of life like I am now. However all these experiences made me who I am today, I would hate to see other people feel unwanted to the point of living on the streets and not having any relatives or even the gift of living. Until 2011, when I moved to the United Kingdom to live with my mother and brothers, I never thought that day would come and my dreams would come true but with God’s love and grace it happened after a long struggle.
I would like to start a project which would involve helping the homeless and children living on the streets in Zimbabwe, Harare. To do this I would need to raise money for a large area of land, that would consist of two big buildings for both girls and boys which would have single beds, a kitchen, a big lounge with a TV for them to socialize with one another. This land would be located in a rural area outside Harare, accomodating homeless children in the residing areas. The reason for this location is so that they can be somewhere at peace, a place where they can be themselves and feel safe in a secluded environment where they can learn, work hard and achieve their dreams without the disturbance of the big busy city. I’m hoping to raise £10,000 pounds which would be used to fund the price of the land, building fees etc. This will ultimately build a safe home for the children of Harare.
The bible says in Deuteronomy 15:11 'For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘you shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’ I have always reflected on this verse whenever I set my eyes on the homeless in Zimbabwe. The last time I visited Zimbabwe was in March 2016, during my two weeks visit, a child approached me and asked me for help, he mentioned “it’s not all about money that I’m asking for, but even anywhere to sleep or just giving me the gift of living” After he said those words I asked him for his age, he says he was ten. I have never felt so motivated to work hard to help these children's lives. It’s not all about money but just giving someone a start on their lives, setting a foundation or a base of where they can start to follow, to be able to achieve their dreams would be very helpful to someone out there.
Setting up this website is not just for financial donations, you could provide my charity with other means like prayers and donations of clothes and neccesities (toothbrushes etc.).
I am asking for your help so I can improve the lives of homeless children in Harare. I strive to provide them with the gift of a safe home and the gift of a fulfilling life. I urge you to give as much as you can, whether it be money or other material donations.
I will be looking forward to all your support, help, donations, love and prayers.
May God bless you all, lets spread the word HELP.
