    Story

I don't really know where to begin with my story. My mother suffers from pulmonary fibrosis of the lungs and is terminally ill. My father and I are her primary carers. Due to my father having to retire early to care for my mother, and my becoming a newly single mother financial resources have been really tight. After paying for a hospital bed for her and a stair lift we just do not have the rescources to buy the one thing she really needs which is a mobility scooter.
My Mum suffered from pneumonia about 10 years ago which her GP failed to spot - this resuilted in her having a severe cough. In 2011 she was rushed to hospital as she had problems breathing. By 2012 she was considered non viable for transplant as both her lungs and heart would need to be transplanted and she is no longer considered viable. She was 55 at the time and it was heartbreaking for our family. She has always been the rock of our family. She is in incredible pain but never complains, but the one thing she really misses is the ability to walk around and go out and see the world. Her lungs are working at less than 20% so even walking 5 metres on level ground is unbearable for her.
I promised her I would get her a wheelchair but I hoped that perhaps you wonderful people might be able to help us.
