Story
Harley was born at 28 weeks weighing 3lb 3oz. Due to being so unwell with sepsis he further lost weight and after a week weighed 2lb 2oz.
Harley was in NICU for 6 weeks, where he was gradually weaned off his ventilator and fed via an NG tube starting at 1ml of milk an hour. He also suffered from reflux and was slow to put on weight and suffered a further bleed on his brain. He was later diagnosed as having Diplegic Cerebral Palsy although all four limbs had very limited movement when he was born.
Harley is now 3years old and has made amazing progress. He has reached his cognitive milestones, is extremely articulate and is a very determined boy.
Harley wants nothing more than to walk. He is unable to do this due to the brain damage affecting his muscle tone. His leg muscles have increased tone throughout. He is having traditional Physiotherapy. He has been assessed for a Mollii suit which using a specialist suit and computer helps to normalise muscle tone which aids walking.
The Mollii suit is not funded by the NHS at present and will need to be funded privately. It costs £4,400.00, but once purchased the only additional cost is the suit as he grows.
