Story
For the past 3 years, between running my day-to-day job, I’ve dedicated my time, skills, and heart to saving dogs who had nowhere else to go – dogs on death row, facing euthanasia, often through no fault of their own.
With my specialist training knowledge and experience working with behavioural needs, I’ve been able to take in dogs from homes of neglect, homes who are struggling to cope and are faced with the difficulty of behavioural euthanasia, having exhausted all other options, and rescues that simply didn’t have the space or resources to help them - I am their last hope.
I’ve done most of this quietly, for the love of the dogs, with no financial or physical support.
I take these dogs into my home, give them the training, rehabilitation, and care they desperately need, and find them new, loving homes.
I also offer full rescue back-up (RBU) for life to ensure they’re always safe.
But the truth is, I can’t keep doing this alone.
But in honour of my soul dog, who passed away 06.07.2025, I feel compelled to offer a permanent foster placement, for elderly dogs, near the end of their life, and those overlooked in kennels, and provide them the same attentiveness, love and dignity that Harlow had in his passing.
The thought of those dogs dying on a cold vets table, some showered by the love of strangers, I suspect, but having not spent their last few weeks, months, or even years, in a home to call their own, and passing with a familiar face by their side, is utterly soul destroying.
I cannot save every single dog, and my work cannot support the current rescue crisis, but it can change the lives for the dogs that walk through my doors.
But I cannot do this alone, caring for elderly dogs is simply not feasible for me, especially if I want to continue with the current work that I do already to rehabilitate and rehome at risk dogs. So this is where I now need to ask for your help.
A fellow rescuer who I supported encouraged me to create this fundraiser, as they believe (and I’m learning to accept) that I deserve support to continue this work.
Your help will enable me to:
Continue to take in dogs on death row or in crisis.
Cover essential costs like food, veterinary care, behavioural rehabilitation, and shelter.
Give these dogs a second chance at life, transforming them into happy, healthy pets ready for their forever homes.
Being able to take in elderly dogs and provide them with end of life care, offering them a permanent home until the end of their days.
Offering a home based rescue space to the dogs who have spent years in kennels, overlooked and forgotten about.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference. Your support allows me to keep saving lives, one dog at a time.
Thank you for believing in me and the work I do. Together, we can give these dogs the future they deserve.
Let’s let Harlows Legacy continue.
