I’ve decided to support a very close friend of mine, someone who is selfless and kind and doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. Louise runs her own little book business and for Christmas she wants to raise money to provide new books for children who are at the Women’s Refuge in Scunthorpe. Anyone who knows me understands my love of reading and I strongly believe that books hold a power inside them able to transport the reader to another world.

For the children at the Refuge they often arrive with just the clothes on their backs and have no other belongings. To be able to give them new books will be a great distraction for them as well as providing them with an escape from whatever has happened to them in the past. For some of the children they might still believe in the power of Christmas and Santa and this will remind them that they have not been forgotten.

I have agreed to do a sky dive with Louise’s partner in order to raise enough money for the children. Please donate whatever you can to this worthy cause and together let’s remind the children that they are not alone.
