Story
My name is Harriet. I am 16 years old and I have been selected to represent the UK at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA next summer. I am very proud to be representing the North-West Norfolk District as I am the only Explorer Scout to have been chosen from this area.
The Jamboree, which occurs in a different country every 4 years, is an event in which Scouts from all over the world come together and celebrate Scouting.
I am raising money to cover my travel expenses, food, equipment and hospitality. Not only will the money allow me to attend, but it will also contribute towards helping less fortunate Scouts from other countries get to the Jamboree.
I would like to use this opportunity to inspire young Scouts all over the District, particularly the Beaver Scouts for whom I am a young leader. For me personally, I hope this experience will develop my skills as a Scout and enable me to grow as an individual. Attending the World Scout Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I am determined to make the most of it.
Any contributions, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and very much appreciated.
Thank you.
