Weʼve raised £191 to Help Fund a Charitable Trip to The Gambia to Teach Science to KS4 Students

    Marlborough, UK
Funded on Monday, 6th August 2018

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

During October 2018, I will be going out to the Gambia with a group of students from St John's Sixth Form to teach sustainable scientific experiments to KS4 students there. As a group, we aim to give them experiences in science that they may not otherwise have, and hopefully inspire them to pursue a career in science in the future!

In order to help with this fundraising, I will also be walking a marathon along the Sarsen Trail, from Avebury to Stonehenge, in late May! If you want to donate for that, this is the place to do it as well!

Thank you very much for reading this and any donations are hugely appreciated - they really do make a difference!

Feel free to come along to any of the events that are being planned as further fundraising as well - planning for our quiz nights is already underway!

And because I couldn't fit everything into one message, here's some more! Most importantly, I just wanted to say thank you so so much to everyone who has already donated, it has been incredible how much you've all given and it really does help! We've now started planning some of the practicals we will be teaching in The Gambia as well, so it's all starting to become very real now! So when they are all sorted properly, I'll let you know what we are doing but until then, here's another photo from the walk!

A little late, but just an update to say we did it! (And made it onto BBC Wiltshire in the processes) While it may have taken us 9 hours to walk the entire 26 miles, it all seems absolutely worth it thanks to everyone's generous support - everything is going so well at the moment! But even though the walk is over, fundraising is still going, and I am still very grateful for any donations you'd give! Here's a photo from the walk too - just a few minutes after we started!

Massive thanks to everyone who has already donated - It's been amazing to see all your support! With one week to go before the big walk, I thought I'd share this again - please share and donate if you can as it all really helps!
