    Story

    Planning Portal

After canvassing interest on We are Fulwood, it would appear that many of us are shocked and saddened at the submission of planning application for a large residential development during the Covid Lockdown. The site is of historical value to the people of Preston and is a proud part if its heritage. Other concerns include traffic congestion opposite a new multi-storey Healthcare Centre and locally over-subscribed schools to name a few.

Leith Planning have quoted £960 + VAT to represent the community in lodging an appeal. We aim to raise enough to cover this and lodge an appeal swiftly.

Should we acquire funds in access of this target, this money will be donated to the NHS to support funding within Royal Preston Hospital.

Following consultation with Leith Planning Group, we are £154 short of covering of both pieces of work we would like to commission: a further review and objection in light of the new information and scheme that has been submitted and representation at the Committee Meeting.

We have been keeping the remains of this fund for when we needed it and that time has come. With the amended scheme of development, we would like to instruct Leith Planning Group to conduct a detailed review of all the subsequent submissions and Planning Policies since their last report and submit a revised objection on behalf of the Friends of Harris Park.
