After completing a number of Mountain Marathons and breaking the 55 mile Ten Tors record, a friend and I have decided to attempt a self-planned 24 hour ultra marathon on Dartmoor. We are planning to run around 130 km non-stop during this period.

We are raising money for a number of charities. I have chosen Help for Heroes and Joe has picked Diabetes UK. We both have personal connections to these organisations and agree that they will put the money to good use. We will give 25% of the money to each charity.

We are students of Torquay Boys' Grammar School and both belong to the same house - Davys. All the houses have a strong charitable ethos and we feel that it is only right to donate some of the money raised to the house charities, MS UK and Prostate Cancer UK. We have chosen to give 25% of the money to these organisations. The house has strong connections with these NGOs, especially MS UK as a former teacher lives with multiple-sclerosis. The remaining 25% will be donated to the school 6th Form and will help with much needed refurbishments for future students.

We will be grateful for any donation and know that your money will be put to good use. We realise that four charities and the school seems like overkill, but we feel that they all do fantastic work and missing one out would be the wrong thing to do.
