Dear All,

This August I am flying out to Lebanon to spend a few weeks volunteering with a charity called Salam LADC who help to run the Syrian refugee camps in the Beqaa Valley region, an area which hosts approx. 365,000 Syrian refugees . I am hoping to raise some money before I fly out to help support the work that the charity does.

Salam helps with all aspects of running the refugee camp, from providing translators, teachers and nurses, distributing aid and feeding the refugees within the camps. But for me the most striking thing they do is provide new arrivals kits for families arriving from Syria, families who often have none of the essentials needed to set up a basic home. The kits provide fuel, stoves, bedding and blankets.

How much does it cost?

£75 - Stoves/heaters
£30 - Carpet
£25 - 3 x Blankets
£20 - 2 x Mattresses
£8 - 20 litres Fuel

£150 - Total cost for a kit for 1 family

I would like to try and take out enough money to provide basic kits for three Syrian families. All those who work with SALAM LADC volunteer and pay their own way. This allows 100% of your support to go directly into the refugee settlement.
