I've raised £2000 to help raise funds for Hull Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and York Special Care Baby Unit who care for sick and premature babies

When we found out we were expecting our first baby we were over the moon, excited and a touch nervous! Of all the possibilies we imagined, welcoming our daughter into the world at only 27 weeks gestation and weighing a tiny 845 grams was not one of them!
Minnie was born at York Hospital by emergency C section when Caz developed severve preeclampsia. She was put immediately onto a ventilator and transferred to the highest level of intensive care at Hull NICU. After nearly 6 weeks we returned back to York Special Care for a further 4 weeks . Minnie finally came home when she weighed 4 pounds and was well enough to start her life outside hospital walls.
During our time in hospital we were blown away by the level of care Minnie received and the support we were given as a family. The consultants, doctors and nurses cared for Minnie around the clock and despite the high pressure environment, they made time to ensure we felt involved and informed of Minnie's every move. Without them we simply would not have Minnie with us here today.
Minnie is rapidly approaching 9 months and every day we are thankful to the teams at Hull and York. On the 16th September we will be walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks, a 26 mile challenge , in an effort to raise money for both Hull and York. This is as a small token of our appreciation and hope the money can help other families.
Thank you so much in advance.
