Empty supermarket shelves and long waits for food deliveries have been an issue for us all under the new lockdown rules. This has been especially true for NHS staff as they struggle to face the biggest challenge in its 72 year history.

By donating to Harvest for Heroes you will be practically supporting our Doctors and Nurses and helping to keep them healthy and well. You will also be showing them that we care and appreciate the huge sacrifices they are making for us all.

Our fruit and vegetable boxes are sourced from New Covent Garden Market, the UK’s largest fruit, vegetable and flower market who, until recently, supplied restaurants, hotels and pubs nationally. By supporting this community, you will also be helping to keep vital businesses trading during this unprecedented time.

We hope you will work with us and give what you can. We can all stay home and practise social distancing and if possible, we can all donate our ‘Friday night beer money’ to help keep our NHS staff healthy.

Show them we care. All donations, large and small, gratefully received. Harvest for Heroes is a non-profit organisation. All monies donated will be spent supporting our NHS.

£12 buys a box which includes:

Broccoli, onions, potatoes, carrots, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, bananas, apples, grapes, clementines, pasta, eggs and milk.

We have now visited 25 hospitals and delivered over 1000 boxes. Yesterday, as well as multiple London drop-offs, we ventured North, dropping off to Rotherham, Huddersfield, Preston, Blackpool, Liverpool, Southport, Ormskirk and St Helens. Thank you all for the continued support, we can see how appreciated it is every day in the happy faces of the nurses we are meeting.

Well, we have come to the end of our second week and have raised over £25,000! This is a terrific achievement and we cannot thank each and every supporter for their generosity. We have appeared on the Radio and TV this week and have now delivered over 600 boxes to 16 hospitals. We will regroup this weekend and next week we will deliver further afield. There have been lots of offers to help us and a number of requests from Hospitals and Nursing Homes - we will endeavor to respond to all of these in the next few days. Please keep sharing! X
