Sam, an old friend of both Ben and I's, was diagnosed with incurable Stage 4 bowel cancer that has spread to her liver and peritoneum (stomach lining).

Diagnosed back in July, a month before her wedding day, her life has changed drastically since then, starting chemotherapy immediately every two weeks. Due to it spreading there is no possibility to operate at this time.

Currently the chemotherapy is to try and stop the cancer from spreading, it is unlikely it will reduce it. By doing this marathon we hope to raise some extra money to add to the huge amount given by loved ones and colleagues already to go towards alternative treatments which may change this diagnosis.
