I've raised £500 to raise money for homelessness in Derby.

Hello!
We are raising money to help feed the homeless in Derby. Our goal is to raise £500 and use the donations to provide the homeless with a meal during this festive period. Everyone deserves a warm meal during this time of the year, when we're sat down around our tables on Christmas Day we need to think about those who are less fortunate and help change this.
On behalf of the Food 4 Thought Alliance, the Accounting and Finance society from the University of Derby, have decided to come together so that we can help to provide free food to the homeless and vulnerable during this very difficult time. The Food 4 Thought Alliance is about getting to the root causes of people’s needs and recognises that the solution is about more than just food - people have no money to buy food because of a range of wider issues, including, crippling debt – which will increase due to the impact of coronavirus on some people’s situations, benefit delays, errors and sanctions amongst a vast range of issues.
The Food 4 Thought Alliance aims to help people break out of the cycle of food poverty. Free food is not intended to be a long-term solution, but more to help people faced with a crisis. To help end the cycle of poverty, the model will help those engaging with partners by providing signposting and advice and, where appropriate, refer them to other agencies who will offer free tailored support.
The Food 4 Thought Alliance is determined in developing new ways of coming up with food provisions, in Derby by developing the following:
1. Universal approach across all 17 wards in Derby, depending on the needs
2. Shifting away from the perception of food being seen as the solution and shifting towards looking at a person's needs.
3. Greater focus on eliminating food waste or reducing it at the minimum.
4. Providing wider access to resources such as funding and training for all involved.
Please help us by donating to our JustGiving page and put a smile on someone's face!
